Ardsley Bridge Modifications Works

The client

Akona was contracted under NEC3 to deliver a comprehensive package of OLE and lineside civils work to facilitate the essential bridge repair works associated with the M62 overbridge crossing the East Coast Mainline. Our scope of work encompassed the full range of OLE and civils work, including ECI/ design development, CRE construction, procurement of materials, provision of plant, labour and associated Network Rail hand back.

Our task was to provide the OLE enabling works for the project anchoring the Return Conductor wire on either side of the bridge to enable the civils bridge repair works to be carried out. Our team managed the full OLE and ancillary civils tasks, including bridge drilling, proof/pull testing, SPS installation, anchoring of the return conductor, and the associated bonding. Additionally, we executed lineside troughing works to accommodate the diversionary route for the return conductor. To complete the works Akona Concepts engaged Story Plant to provide the RRV plant and POS services for the project.
