The client
The task
Akona Concepts was contracted to undertake the recommissioning of the 25kV power supply and overhead line system associated with the train care depot for client Brodie Engineering.
The solution
The work involved high-level intrusive surveys of the OLE system, including maintenance, adjustments, and replacement of component parts. We also performed maintenance checks on the HV and LV power supply transformers and switches, and conducted necessary cable tests to enable the system to be section-proved and brought back into service.
The result
All works were successfully completed on time and to budget for our client resulting in further maintenance support services being supplied. The 25kV train care depot is now operational for rolling stock.
Summary
Akona Concepts continued to work with client carrying out maintenance works on a rolling programme.
