Completion of Ardsley Bridge OLE Works

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Balvac Ardsley Bridge Project, with the OLE modification works finalised in July 2024.

Akona was contracted under NEC3 to deliver a comprehensive package of OLE and lineside civils work to facilitate the essential bridge repair works associated with the M62 overbridge crossing the East Coast Mainline. Our scope of work encompassed the full range of OLE and civils work, including ECI/ design development, CRE construction, procurement of materials, provision of plant, labour and associated Network Rail hand back.

Our team managed a variety of critical tasks, including bridge drilling, SPS installation, anchoring of the return conductor, and the associated bonding. Additionally, we executed lineside troughing works to accommodate the diversionary route for the return conductor.

The successful delivery of this project underscores our capability to manage complex rail infrastructure tasks with precision and efficiency. We are proud of our team’s performance and their contribution to the overall success of the Ardsley Bridge Project.
