Overview of the Course
Would you how to react in the event of a shooting, stabbing, or bomb attack? The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in citizen AID (RQF) has been specifically developed to help members of the public learn life-saving skills for use in these extreme situations. Based on the citizen AID phone App and pocket guide, this regulated qualification is designed to teach people how to react safely, prioritise the injured and give first aid to victims in the event of a deliberate multiple casualty incident.
Course Details
Course loading 12 learners per course
Course duration 3 hours
Course content
Determining the appropriate actions to take in the following events, using the citizen AID App or pocket guide:
- Knife attacker or active shooter
- Exploded bomb
- Unattended and suspicious item
- Acid and vehicle attacks
Summoning the emergency services and effective handover Prioritising multiple casualties Dealing with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing:
- Opening the airway
- Checking breathing
- Recovery Position Controlling severe external bleeding
- Applying manufactured and improvised tourniquets
- Wound Packing
Pre-Requisites & Requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the day of training.
Completion of the course
Learners will receive and E-Certificate on successful completion of the course. This qualification will be valid for 3 years and the qualification will need to be retaken on or before the requalification date to remain valid.
