Akona was proudly selected to deliver specialist OCS training and develop robust standards for Balfour Beatty US on the Caltrain project. Over two years, our expert trainers and assessors were deployed to California, working closely with the teams to deliver a comprehensive and high-impact training programme.

The training was exceptionally well-received, empowering participants with the skills and confidence needed to excel. Building on this success, we introduced a tailored mentorship programme to ensure seamless and safe implementation of the training in the workplace. This initiative was further supported by multiple visits from our assessment teams and the development of bespoke distance learning materials, reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

In addition to the OCS maintenance development and the delivery of these programmes. The company was commissioned to design and develop railway safety awareness video media products for schools and colleges located on the Caltrain corridor. These videos were aimed towards, raising awareness of electrification safety issues for those living in the local community.
